I booked a very spur of the moment trip to Portland, Oregon--my first completely solo trip! I am quite well traveled, but I don't think I've ever been alone from start to finish. This was a great place to start - it's super accessible on foot, with a wide variety of activities to get into as a solo traveler. I thoroughly enjoyed eating everything in sight, and actually quite like the gloomy weather that took over on day 2. Highlight of this trip, for me--was seeing Multnomah Falls and going to a Sade tribute show at a little jazz venue. I also really enjoyed spending time with myself, reading, people watching, having a quiet meal, or listening to music/podcasts while aimlessly walking around!

Last summer I went to Canada for the first time, accompanied by one of my best friends and favorite travel partner! We stayed in central Vancouver but also ventured out to the following places:

• Kitsilano for sunny beach times
  
• University of BC to visit the Museum of Anthropology (one of the most mindful, conscious exhibitions I've ever been to)
  
• Granville Island for lots of eats and a boat ride
• Stanley Park for a lovely bike ride along the seawall
• Capilano Suspension bridge park to cross the famous bridge
• Squamish to hike the 2/3 peaks of Stawamus Chief Trail
• Gastown for fun nightlife
